What happens when a Registered Early Childhood Educator has a passion for woodworking? Tree Nuggets are born!

After a wonderful 33 year career in licensed early learning environments, Wendy can now be found wood-shopping for uniquely grained local hardwoods and in her workshop in Westport, Ontario creating open-ended activities for children that encourage exploration, inquiry and imagination!

A lifetime learner with a Degree in Early Childhood Studies, Wendy finds the greatest joy observing children interact and experiment freely with the materials in their environment. New items almost always come from observing children in their work/play or from chatting with colleagues in the early learning field about the interests of children and how we can expand their learning.

Wendy’s happy place is in front of a bandsaw, especially when free-hand cutting jumbo rainbows. A close second is at the belt sander creating her irregular shaped Tree Nuggets. All products from rainbows to spinners to nuggets to gem blocks are finished with non-toxic, eco-friendly Tried & True Original Finish.
