L’Art Verre

Stained glass garden and window art

Self-educated artist, Stéphan Lavallée was born in the city of Beloeil on February 8th,
1965. He started manipulating glass in 1986.

In the fall of 1996, he journeyed to Chartres in Pierre Millous’ studio for a few months. Upon his return, he opens his own workshop in the region of Mont-St-Hilaire, where many of his stained glasses will be sold to restaurants and buildings of the metropolitan region.

Settled since several years in the valley of la Petite Nation in the Outaouais region, he opens his workshop in Ripon. He polishes off his stained glasses from old windows and doors that he hunted down from churches, farms and barns of Quebec’s countryside and certain regions of Ontario that he has wandered through.

His stained glasses revives a part of the Canadian heritage, by giving a second life to the old Queen Ann, Gothic, Victorian and Québéquois style frames that he has gathered throughout the years.
