I am a glass artisan based in Mississauga, Ontario. My love for glass goes back to my adolescence when I used to follow my grandfather in his “bottega” (studio) in Northern Italy. I learned from him the basic techniques using the torch and glass rods. In 50 years while my technique has evolved a lot, my passion for glass has remained the same. My inspiration comes from nature, from customers’ suggestions or straight from my imagination. Today, my big challenge is sourcing the best materials, in particular glass. In fact, I still use glass rods from the Czech Republic, probably the best glass on the market, for its clarity and shine.
I like to create new ornaments every year for the many clients who come back looking for that special piece to add to their collection!
I love as well to create goblets because they are widely appreciated for their durability and for the elegance and beauty of their shapes. A Ottawa couple made the trip to Toronto to buy their wedding goblets!
