Creepy Christine

Darkly humoured paper products, ornaments, toys and curiosities.

Toronto, ON illustrator and self-proclaimed professional fidgeter, Christine Stait-Gardner, has a knack for ideas that seem to pop into her mind’s dusty old cabinet of curiosities. Her creations often come with intricate backstories inspired by people she knows, her experiences, travels, and real-life events, all filtered through the quirky alchemy of Creepy Christine’s imagination.

Her most popular product is the “Inappropriate Gift Tags,” which feature humorous messages such as “For you. Because I felt obligated,” “Feel free to weep openly with gratitude,” and “I would never wear this, but I have a feeling you will.”

Christine operates her studio like a one-woman tornado, sourcing materials from Canadian businesses and prioritizing salvaged, reused, and recycled items whenever possible. She collaborates with an Ottawa-based company for printing the gift tags and prints cards at home on stock sourced from a family business in the US. Every item is handmade with the hope of bringing a smile (or a belly laugh) and making people feel mischievously joyful.
