Sandy has always been interested in designing healthy food. Starting at a young age of appreciating and preserving her family market garden, preserving and cooking from scratch. After receiving a jar of tapenade from France, Sandy was hooked but the tapenade needed to be vegan! Designing her own recipes for tapenade and preserving, it eventually became a family business. After more than 25 years Dave and Sandy still personally make their own products, no staff. All our preserves are healthy, low or no sodium, vegan and gluten free. All preserves may be used for everyday meals or entertaining.
Our latest adventure has included opening a company store with “goats on the roof”. About 48 years ago on our way to Tofino B. C. we came across a country store with a goat on the roof. Always wanting our own store to sell our preserves the idea for Loyalist Trading Co. with “goats on the roof” was created seven years ago. We sell our gourmet preserves and also other small makers products. Come visit!
